“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players…”- William Shakespeare
Acting was always the consistent vision when Lei Ballard thought about her future. She grew up reading everything from Shakespeare, to fairytales, to Greek mythology, as well as listening to music and watching movies from before her time. Her love for these things allowed her imagination to create a place where she could be anyone she wanted, and now acting allows her to do it in real life.
Lei Ballard grew up in Washington, DC and began acting in school and church plays. When trying to reinvent herself in high school, her typical character creation, Lei figured out she was funny, and other people thought so too, which gave her confidence in acting. After graduating from college, she realized that she wanted to finally pursue acting full-time. In 2015 she performed in the stage play Church Mafia at the prestigious Warner Theater which began her career as an actress. Soon after, Lei joined the McKinnon Acting Studio and began perfecting her craft which lead her to star in films such as Only Clarke Syndrome and the upcoming films Pipeline and Dirty Talk, as well as recurring in the web series’ Chance and the upcoming web series Harlot’s Webb. Lei has also been featured on the Reelz Network’s Copycat Killers, Investigation Discovery’s Bride Killa, and as a comedic commentator on DCTV’s Moe Knows Best.
